Our synagogue welcomes families with young children. Our programs in this area include:
- Pre-Shabbat for Tots: A semi-weekly program for tots and preschool age children from 10 – 11 am that includes learning Shabbat songs in Hebrew and English, a mini Kabbalat Shabbat, listening to stories, creating Shabbat art, and making challah. Free for members and $5 per child for non-members. Please call (03) 9500Â 0906 or send email in order to ensure enough materials are available (especially challah dough).
- Tot Shabbat: Occasional small, informal Shabbat morning activities for parents and children up to the age of 6, held from 10 – 10:30 am. Run by parents, there’s a story or two (with pictures), some singing, some fruit and challah, some schmoozing with parents and kids… Families are welcome to stay through the service and kiddush, or leave after 10 if the kids are getting antsy.
- Family Shabbat: A semiweekly children’s program on Shabbat morning from 10:30 – 11:30 am. Participation is through stories, songs, and games geared for children aged 5-10. (B’nei Mitzvah class students and their parents are also required to attend on the first and third Shabbat of the month.)
